¿Sabías que la cáscara de cebolla tiñe de amarillo dorado, que la col morada se vuelve verde con una pizca de carbonato y que una flor de cempasúchil puede dejar su color en una bandeja de hilo para siempre? El color natural lleva siglos en nuestra cultura. Este taller se enseña a usarlo.
Este es un taller práctico de teñido natural donde aprenderás a extraer color de plantas, flores, cortezas y semillas para teñir textiles con tus propias manos. Sin experiencia previa. Sin fórmulas complicadas, solo experimentación.
Al terminar este taller te llevarás: Bandejas de hilo teñidas en distintos tonos vegetales. Una pañoleta de tela teñida por ti mismo. Un cuaderno de recetas y la capacidad de repetir el proceso desde casa con plantas de tu entorno.

Acerca del taller:
- Sesión 1: El color tiene química
Entenderás cómo el pH transforma los tonos de una planta. Harás un experimento con betabel o col morada y prepararás tus telas. - Sesión 2: Preparar la fibra para recibir color
Aprenderás a usar taninos y mordientes: los «puentes» que hacen que el tinte se fije y dure. Sin esto, el color se va al primer lavado. - Sesión 3: Las plantas al fuego
Prepararás 5 a 6 baños de tinte distintos. Introducirás tus bandejas y verás cómo los colores se van revelando. - Sesión 4: Ampliar y personalizar
Con modificadores simples desplazarás los colores obtenidos. Teñirás tu pañoleta personal y aprenderás a cuidar tus piezas.

Natural color has been an integral part of our culture for centuries. This workshop teaches you how to harness it.
This is a hands-on natural dyeing workshop where you will learn to extract color from plants, flowers, bark, and seeds to dye textiles with your own hands. No prior experience is required. No complicated formulas—just experimentation.
By the end of this workshop, you will take home: Trays of yarn dyed in various plant-based shades; a fabric scarf dyed by you personally; a recipe notebook; and the ability to replicate the process at home using plants found in your own environment.

About the Workshop:
- Session 1: Color Has Chemistry
You will understand how pH transforms a plant’s hues. You will conduct an experiment using beets or red cabbage and prepare your fabrics. - Session 2: Preparing the Fiber to Receive Color
You will learn how to use tannins and mordants—the «bridges» that ensure the dye binds to the fabric and lasts. Without these, the color will wash out after the very first wash. - Session 3: Plants on the Fire
You will prepare 5 to 6 different dye baths. You will introduce your fabric trays and watch as the colors begin to reveal themselves. - Session 4: Expanding and Personalizing
Using simple modifiers, you will shift and alter the colors you have obtained. You will dye your own personal scarf and learn how to care for your finished pieces.
