Land + Lenses Apprenticeship Program


Are you passionate about media arts and social change? Ready to make an impact in your local parks?

Land + Lenses is a placemaking program designed to activate Otay Valley Regional Park. As a paid apprentice, you’ll take on the role of a community leader and changemaker, shaping arts-based activities that connect people with the park while exploring themes of art, healing, environmental justice, and the land.

What You’ll Gain as a Youth Apprentice:

  • Leadership training and skills in program development, facilitation, communication, and documentation.
  • Opportunities to collaborate with staff, local artists, and community mentors.
  • Experience guiding program activities and recruiting participants.
  • A $1,685 stipend for your contributions.

Program Requirements:

  • Youth ages 14–24.
  • Commitment to a 100-hour program (approx. 5 hours/week).
  • Availability after school hours (January–July, specific dates TBD).
  • Must attend in person in San Diego.
