About the author:
Shannon English (she/her) is a poet, a maker, a lover of the natural world, and the owner of The Delicate Squash, a small business that provides seasonal, gluten-free baked goods. Her poem “Seed Tending” was first published in the 2023-2024 San Diego Poetry Annual.
Poetry is her chosen medium for practicing self-acceptance. As someone who lives with chronic illnesses, writing has given her a space to process her experience and a language to give voice to it. In her poems, Shannon hopes to create a safe space on the page for others to practice acceptance of their whole selves and find healing.
