DESCRIPTION:This workshop embraces bilingualism and the border.\n\nWhat does it mean to live and work between languages\, never fully held by one?\nWrite from the space of in-between. The space where English and Spanish meet\, clash\, soften\, interrupt\, and remake each other. Where your tongue hesitates\, switches\, invents. Where meaning is carried in feeling as much as in grammar.\n\nBegin with a moment along the U.S.–Mexico border in San Diego. Maybe it is the sound of traffic near the crossing\, the ocean air moving through both sides\, a conversation overheard\, a memory of translation\, or a word that does not exist in one language but lives fully in another.\nLet your writing move the way you do. Code-switch if you need to. Break rules. Use both languages. Use neither perfectly.\n\n\nEste taller abraza el bilingüismo y la frontera.\n\n¿Qué significa vivir y trabajar entre idiomas\, sin ser nunca plenamente contenido por uno solo?\n\nEscribe desde ese espacio intermedio. El espacio donde el inglés y el español se encuentran\, chocan\, se suavizan\, se interrumpen y se reinventan mutuamente. Donde tu lengua titubea\, cambia\, inventa. Donde el significado reside tanto en el sentimiento como en la gramática.\n\nComienza con un momento a lo largo de la frontera entre Estados Unidos y México\, en San Diego. Tal vez sea el sonido del tráfico cerca del cruce\, el aire del océano que fluye a través de ambos lados\, una conversación escuchada al pasar\, un recuerdo de traducción o una palabra que no existe en un idioma pero que vive plenamente en otro.\n\nDeja que tu escritura se mueva tal como lo haces tú.
