SUMMARY:Will You Still Hold My Hand? - A Youth Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:A Reason To Survive (ARTS) is a nonprofit organization in National City dedicated to empowering young people throughout South County San Diego to become confident\, compassionate\, and courageous community builders through the transformative power of creativity. \n\n\n\n\nThis summer\, a cohort of ARTS youth participated in an intensive curatorial program where they explored exhibition design\, gallery practices\, and installation while working alongside artists\, museum professionals\, and cultural leaders from across San Diego and Tijuana. Together\, they developed the vision for Will You Still Hold My Hand?\, an exhibition created by youth for the community. \nThrough themes of communication\, body language\, understanding young people\, and nostalgia\, Will You Still Hold My Hand? invites visitors to reflect on the connections that shape us and the importance of listening to the voices of young people. Featuring artwork by ARTS youth alongside a thoughtfully curated exhibition experience\, the show celebrates creativity as a catalyst for empathy\, conversation\, and community. \nJoin us to experience this powerful exhibition and witness the insight\, imagination\, and leadership of the next generation of artists and changemakers. \nOpening: August 27th\, 2026\, 5-7pm \nOn view until September 10th\, 2026 \n\nA Reason To Survive (ARTS) es una organización sin fines de lucro ubicada en National City dedicada a fortalecer a las y los jóvenes del sur del condado de San Diego para que se conviertan en líderes comunitarios seguros de sí mismos\, compasivos y valientes a través del poder transformador de la creatividad. \nEste verano\, un grupo de jóvenes de ARTS participó en un programa intensivo de curaduría donde exploró el diseño de exposiciones\, las prácticas de galería y el montaje de exhibiciones mientras colaboraba con artistas\, profesionales de museos y líderes culturales de todo San Diego.
